This paper presents the result of canonical correlation analysis between leaf characters and yield of 12 paddy rice cultivars measured during the physiological maturing stage.The results are as follows:It is significant or highly significant correlation between leaf characters and yield.The yield is higher than the plant type with wider,shorter and erect leaves with smaller base angle,longer and thicker straight second backward leaf with longer sheath,longer and narrower and thicker straight third backward leaf with larger base angle as well as with shorter sheath.
